Three Steps To Success With MPM or SFI
by Tom Robarge
Step One: Get Your Domain.
There is a system already in place to drive traffic to your website. This system is called Search Engines. But to put this system to work you have to have your own domain. Search Engines will not list affiliate pages.
With the price of hosting coming down. It is now possible to host a web site for as little as $5.00 per month and this usually includes 1 free domain.
Do not worry you do not need to know how to create a web site. All you have to do is forward your domain to your affiliate page. This can be done in two ways. After you have selected a domain name it will be placed on park until you set up a Domain Destination to do this follow the steps below.
This is The First Way.
Note: These are the steps for the hosting service I use. They may be different for your hosting service.
1.Go to your Control Panel or C-Panel
2.Click on the Domain you have selected
3.Select Forward Your Domain under Destination
4.Enter your Affiliate Page or Gateway Page for Forwarding Destination.
5.Select HTTP Redirect for forwarding type.
6.Repeat steps 1 thru 5 to set-up sub-domains for other Gateway Pages
Sub-domains allow you to divide your website content into multiple sections using a prefix
to your existing domain name.
Each sub-domain is created under the primary domain account and functions as a fully
operating site. It's the perfect way to guide frequent visitors directly to their destination.
Check with your hosting service to find out how many sub-domains you can use.
This is The Second Way.
For those you now html (the language for creating web pages) you can create on index page and use the IFRAME tag. To place your Affiliate Page or Gateway page. The advantage of this is that you can add other pages to your web site where you can exchange links to drive more traffic to your web site. Add more contact to you website which will aid in getting indexed with search engines. Set up sub domains for your affiliates. Use banners exchanges etc.
Step Two: Drive Traffic To Your Web Site.
Search Engines will index your web site, but this will take time. Also the more traffic you are able to create for your web site the higher you will be in Search Engines listing.
There are many ways to drive traffic to your web site, but I will only cover the two most used ways.
The first is Traffic Exchanges.
You can sign up for a free account at any of the thousands of traffic exchanges available online. Then once you have gone through the registration process, you will be able to add links to the website you want to promote, for example, I promote one of my home business websites on many traffic exchanges and this is the address I use http://www.tomrobarge.com You would simply add your own link.
Traffic exchanges work on a credit basis, in order for your website to be seen you must first generate credits by viewing the sites of other members. The credits you earn enable your site to be viewed by other members across the system. This increases the number of visitors to all of the websites involved.
Traffic exchanges usually enforce a credit ratio, meaning members earn a certain amount of credits for visiting one member site, and each credit is translated into one page view. Ratios can vary from program to program so before registering for a traffic exchange it is wise to check out their ratio first. A ratio of 1-1 is best, that way you will get your page viewed once for every (1) page you view.
All manual traffic exchanges have specific viewing times of all member pages. These viewing times can range from 10-30 seconds, so whilst surfing the system, every page that is shown to a member will remain in view for 10-30 seconds, you will not be able to proceed to the next site until the specified time has passed. Most traffic exchanges have a toolbar at the top or bottom of the page that has a timer on it so you can see when the timer reaches 0 and it is ok for you to continue on too the next page. This is put in place to make sure each member site is promoted equally and fairly. If you try to go on to the next page before the timer reaches 0 you will be penalized in some way, the penalty varies from exchange to exchange.
To make surfing traffic exchanges a little more interesting, some services offer different ways to surf such as, playing games for credits or listing to radio stations whilst surfing. If you do not want to surf manually for credits you can purchase them, again prices vary. Many traffic exchanges are free to join but also have Pro versions that allow you to generate more credits from referrals. Always thoroughly check out what is available in the Pro version when you first sign-up.
I have joined eight traffic exchanges which I open in different tabs. I then rotate through the tabs so I do not have to wait for the timers.
The Second Way is Safe List.
A safe list is a mailing list that you can join, usually for free, with the option of becoming a paid member. The purpose for joining the list is quite simple... you can mail your solicitations to others without being accused of spamming. Everyone that joins a particular safe list agrees to receive mail from other members in exchange for the right to mail the membership themselves. It is rather the same as sending out solo ads to people without having to pay for each individual ad, as you would through an e-zine.
There are two different types of safe list memberships: Free and Pro (paid). Free lists usually limit the frequency of your mailing. The typical free membership allows a person to mail 2-3 times per week, and requires that you receive mail from the entire membership.
Pro memberships are more advantageous than free ones because, you are usually allowed to mail daily, and you can also opt for receiving mail from other pro members only, or not at all, in some cases. As a pro member to a list, your sales letters are more likely to be read. For one thing, if you can mail every day, you're more likely to be seen, and if you are sending your ads to other pro members, that means you are mailing to people serious enough about receiving your mail to have paid for their membership.
Another key to making safe lists work for you is to make sure you mail to them as often as possible. Consistency in marketing is a must. Don't let people forget about you. If you have a certain ad that really works well, use it often; just change your headline so that you stay fresh.
Safe list users get a lot of mail. So you will need to set up two e-mail accounts.
The first Contact E-mail this is for e-mail from the administrator of the safe list and with some safe list premium ads. The second List E-mail is for the e-mail you will receive from other members. Yahoo and Hot Mail (MSN) accounts are now being refused by most safe list. If you do not have e-mail accounts available from your ISP or website provider then Google's G-Mail is the way to go.
Something's to look for when joining safe list.
Number of members - at least 1000 or more
How often you can send ads - At least every 72 hours, daily would be better.
That you have to click on the link to get credit. Make sure the link will display your web site.
DO NOT reply to safe list ads with your own ad. It is tacky and not permitted by most lists.
DO NOT use auto responders when you sign up for safe lists. You will be found out, and deleted from the list. This is a very BIG NO-NO!
Keep your mailbox clean, so you don't bounce mail. This is not only for the purpose of safe lists, but for all of your other subscriptions as well. Bounced e-mail is not a good thing, and will get you deleted too. Chronic bouncing will even get you banned from lists and publications.
The advantage of use safe list is that you have two shots at the potential prospect. The first is the sales letter and the second is when they click on the link for credit your web site is displayed.
When using either of these methods be sure to protect your system with a good anti virus software.
Step Three: Align Yourself To Receive.
You can have anything you want as long as you are in alignment with what you want to receive. The best way to get in to alignment is to follow your own intuition.
Intuition is the act by which the mind perceives the agreement or disagreement of two ideas. When using only intuition, the truth of the proposition is immediately known right then, the moment it is presented. This is without the intervention of other ideas or deductive reasoning.
A recent example in my life: While I was at a dentist appointment, my wife felt that she should visit a dieing friend in a nearby nursing home but decided to wait and stop on the way home. When we arrived at the nursing home. We found out that my wife's friend had passed away only fifteen minutes earlier. Had she followed her intuition she would have been able to be there before her friend passed away.
I am sure most of you can relate to times something inside you was telling you something but you failed to listen. The price for not listing may sometimes be small and other times large but there is always a price to be paid for not listening.
There are many resources on the internet on how to improve your intuition. Take the time to find out how to follow your intuition and then do it. It will not only help you in your business but in all areas of your life.
